Start with the job, not the truck

Most enquiries begin with a model number. It usually works out better the other way round: describe what has to move, how far, how often and into what, and the right machine narrows down quickly. Below are the jobs our equipment is bought to do.

01

Move loaded pallets across a floor

The most common job in any warehouse, and the one that decides how much gets done in a shift. Hand trucks for occasional moves; electric pedestrian models once the distance or the frequency makes pumping and pulling the bottleneck.

02

Lift pallets onto racking

A pallet truck lifts 200 mm; anything above that needs a mast. Straddle-leg stackers are the economical answer for open-bottom pallets, and reach trucks put the load into high racking while the truck stays in the aisle.

03

Handle closed-bottom pallets, stillages and machines

Straddle legs cannot get under a closed base. A counterbalanced truck drives straight up to the load instead — pedestrian, stand-on or seated, 0.5 to 2.5 t.

04

Load and unload containers

Height is the constraint, not capacity. A full free lift mast raises the forks inside the closed mast, so the truck can work under a container roof; compact chassis and short overall length do the rest.

05

Pick orders piece by piece

When the work is cases rather than pallets, the operator should travel with the load instead of walking back to a truck. Low- and medium-level pickers do exactly that.

06

Move goods a long way inside a site

Beyond a certain distance, carrying one pallet at a time stops making sense. A tow tractor pulling a trailer train moves several loads per trip.

07

Work at height

Maintenance, installation, stock checks above racking. Scissor lifts for vertical reach over a platform; articulating boom lifts when you need to get up and over an obstacle.

08

Keep the floor clean

Dust and debris across a large floor is a sweeper job; ground-in dirt and spills need water and a brush. Both lines are built under our AcceClean brand.

09

Set work at a comfortable height

Fixed electric platforms bring the work up to the operator instead of the other way round — assembly benches, loading points, machine feeding.

Not sure which of these you are?

Tell us the heaviest load, the distance, the hours per day, the floor and the aisle width. We will come back with a model and a battery — and say plainly when a cheaper machine would do the same job.
